jQuery Creator John Resig Leaves Mozilla
John Resig, known as the creator of the jQuery library, announced that he is departing from his role as lead JavaScript evangelist at the Mozilla Foundation. Resig apparently has no complaints - the recent year and a half spent at Mozilla has allowed him to work on jQuery full time, which has been a boon not just for the development of the library but also for web developers.

JQuery 1.6 Released
The jQuery development team has announced the release of version 1.6 of the jQuery, the world's most popular JavaScript library. Highlights of the new jQuery release include performance improvements, as well as a major rewrite of the Attribute model. The jQuery 1.6 update also includes a number of bug fixes and boasts greater cross-browser compatibility.
